It sucks that this little-known legend died. He helped fight worldwide hunger with his research, and the fact that groups like Greenpeace wants to undo his contributions to the world is revolting. Is it any surprise that Patrick Moore left that god awful organization? It also sucks that Pat Swayze died, but Borlaug saved more people than anyone can imagine. (he's an American hero, goddammit!)

If you are wondering why I'm commenting on this; I live in Louisiana, which has a part in stateside seafood. Protectionist policies such as tariffs help no one and harm everyone.

I don't think closing the borders will solve the illegal immigration problem. Because A: They'll find other ways to get into the country and B: It will keep illegal immigrants already within our borders in the country. It didn't work in China (Great Wall), It didn't work in Communist-bloc Europe (Iron Curtain), and it isn't working in Southeast Asia (Malaysia's border fence with Thailand).
