I really like this!

I noticed that you are mostly known for pixel art, but this is pretty badass! Were the graphics outside of the photos imported or drawn directly in flash? With that out of the way...

In terms of graphics, I really like the pixel art approach that you took with this. And you did a great job with the direction and the timing as well. However, it could have used a bit more animation in parts, namely the silhouettes of various people crossing the street. As for the music, even though no audio portal music was used; you did a great job on the selection and the translation is passable. As for the characters, I think they're both cute and awesome at the same time, although Saturn's gender might cause some confusion at first.

What I do like:
-Excellent art
-Great direction and timing
-Top-notch sound selection
-Original

What I don't like:
-Could have used more animation in parts, but the directing makes up for that.

Overall: Rokkan-Saturn, how would you like a nine out of ten?

That was pretty creative!

I really like how you mixed David Firth's music with a style reminiscent of Neil Freebairn's To Kill An Assassin (you should check that out when you get the chance). It's too bad that a lot of people missed out on checking this out, because this is one of the better music videos around. With that said...

In terms of art and animation, it's similar to To Kill An Assassin, but with much more in terms of actual animation. Speaking of which, I like it when people mix tweening and frame-by-frame together, and you did a great job at it. Plus, I liked how you synchronized the animation to David Firth's music. As for that part, you have made a wise choice when it came to Audio Portal music, something different outside of the metal and electronica (which I happen to like I might add). As much as I loved watching Katan, Bitey of Brackenwood, Tankmen: Dual, Serpent's Grave, and Fallen Angel; this is kinda reminiscent of the flash cartoons that were made between 2000-2003 when people on here were doing flash for the hell of it.

What I do like:
-Nice animation
-Original, which isn't as important as the final product
-Excellent timing
-Good song selection

What I don't like:
-The speed of the faces at the preloader was near blinding.

Overall: Here's a nine out of ten for doing something that I found quite enjoyable.

Solid animation, good tone, but a bit disjointed.

While it may be nice that this collab isn't either a music video or a Robot Chicken wanna-be; I still have a few gripes with this. Of course, you guys will hate me for saying this, but just be glad I'm not giving a low score. (I'm not like that overrated, directorially inept prick Notorious.) With that out of the way...

Graphically, it's better than the Star Syndicate's Night in Hotlanta, but the styles used didn't complement each other, which resulted in this losing three points. However, the individual shorts were coherent and had a decent choice of angles. On the other hand, the pacing was uneven for the first one, but I'll let it slide for it actually worked. Soundwise, the music you chose was fitting, even though I usually don't like Hania Lee's music. (Keep in mind that I happened to like Popstar.) As for the voicework, not bad, but I think there are better VAs that you could have used such as Sam Haft, Larry McKee (Mega Man & Pompous Robots), Psyguy, Ry-Guy, or Nick Tiner. (Note to Sapphire: I think that your review would have been more valid if you responded to some of the critics.) However, the voice deliveries were passable, so I'm not going to complain about that. Then there's the story, which fell apart after Denzel Crocker's part. I'd like to see something more creative than the overused "big bad businessman" trope. Then again, I like how the first part was handled.

What I do like:
-Good art and animation
-Good music selection
-Something different
-Good directing on the first two parts

What I don't like:
-Lack of uniformity/style clash
-The voice acting, while not bad, could have been better.
-The second two parts were rather weak in the story department. Of course, as much as I liked Denzel's part, it didn't have much of a plot.

Overall: A prime example of how the sum of all parts doesn't hold up well as a whole. Here's a seven out of ten for trying.

3D modeled excellence!

Chakra-X, for your first 3D cartoon, this is much better than most people's attempts at a complete one. Of course, I tried modeling in GMax, but I didn't like it very much. With that out of the way, on with the review...

Graphically speaking, this is better than most 3D flash movies where it's either good models ruined by bad animation (Battle for the Portal) or the other way around (Rick's Adventure 171-Symphony Battle). This had both great models and the animation was up to par with those models. Plus, I like how you included the special attack for the Burning Gundam. Keep in mind that I have never seen a Gundam episode ever, although I did see a few snippets on YouTube. Speaking of which, why is it that there is always some dumbass who says that video files don't belong here? Truth is, I think video submissions should be treated the same way as regular Flash entries. As for the sound, excellent choice of music, and I also like how you used Barney and Mark Gatha soundbytes. I think that time you spent on personal projects has paid off. Why? Because I found this to be pretty damned funny!

What I do like:
-Great models and animation
-Fitting sound
-Funny

What I don't like:
-People will complain about the length, but screw what they think.

Overall: How would you like a ten for this?

Chakra-X responds:

Thank you very much sir! I have not seen those flashes in awhile so I would like to take a look at them. I did have fun building the Gundam and Barney, but my professor told me there a lot more good modelers than good 3D animators out there, so I really wanted to make that look good. THANK you for appreciating what I did to try to replicate the greatness of the Burning Gundam. I understand this is a flash-based site, but flash and video have been blending together ever since YouTube came around. It's not like it was live action.

Also, the original requirements for the project were to be 15-30 seconds long, so in that context my animation of *long*!

Thank you for this review!

Pretty good.

Even though I think that you are an asshole, this cartoon proves that you can create good, original material (emphasis on the "good" part). With that out of the way...

Graphically, it isn't the best, but it gets the point across, which is the way it ought to be on here. Nice mix between tweening and frame-by-frame. Plus, I think you did a good job on the music selection. However, this wasn't funny which resulted in you losing two points.

What I do like:
-Good art and animation
-Original, which matters little especially if the final product turns out to suck.
-Nice music selection
-Nice pace

What I don't like:
-Wasn't funny
-Sound effects were a bit grating
-Artistic value is no excuse for not having a replay button. Then again, I can always right click and replay it that way.

Overall: I may like this, but that won't change my opinion of you. Here's an eight out of ten.

Pretty good for a first Flash!

Considering that this is another Kirby flash, and one that was probably drawn with a mouse; this turned out to be pretty good. Sure, the graphics were crudely drawn, but they were well-directed and animated. And this happens to be your first Flash cartoon? I think that you have a lot of potential that you managed to tap into, but could use some improvements. One, unless you are doing a ten minute plus flash with thousands of Frames, don't event synchronize music or use scenes (I learned that from Mindchamber). Two, you may want to get some Kirby Super Star sound effects for there wasn't enough of them and the DBZ-charge up will piss off DBZ haters (the site Rainbow Resort has those sounds). Three, you could use some more music for the second part; that is where the audio portal comes in. Other than that, it's pretty good.

What I do like:
-Nice pace
-Passable story
-Decent art, good animation
-Excellent fighting

What I don't like:
-The fact that this is another Kirby flash, which dipshits like Fawx will bemoan all to hell. Note: I don't have a beef with video game flash as long as they are good.
-The background music could have been streamed, and needs more sound effects.

Overall: Here's an eight out of ten, and keep practicing; you will eventually be up there with the likes of Mindchamber, Kine the Genius, Gel, and many others.

Proof that longer doesn't equal better.

As much as I liked Fred-The Animated Series, Kids These Days, and Leo and Satan; This really shows that you keep getting better and better. Not just in terms of laughs, but in the animation department as well. I also like the voice acting too, even though there wasn't much of it. However, as much as I like your attempts at original comedy; you should do something action-packed, dramatic, and intense when you get the chance.

What I like about this:
-Funny
-Good art and animation
-Great soundwork

What I don't like about this:
-People will complain about the length, but who cares about their two bits?

Overall: Oney, how would you like a nine out of ten for this?

Reminds me of the flash cartoons...

...that were made in 1999-2001, such as the Lloyds, Street Life, Portal Detour, and Britney Spears Gets A Dirty Sanchez. Before Arrogancy, RTil, Notorious, ZekeySpaceyLizard, and others of their ilk who think they know everything, but know jack shit. This is the kind of material that's worthy of a much higher score than it has right now, moreso than that Lethal Injection cartoon that I reviewed earlier. With that out of the way, on with the critique.

In terms of art and animation, EGOT may not be up there with Katan or Bitey of Brackenwood; but it gets the point across, which is the way it ought to be on NG. I like the use of manipulated photography for lipsync, which was also well done in a JibJab way. Plus, I also like the use of imported textures when Phil gets a visit from EGOT for the first time. Not to mention, the implementation of those custom gradients was also top-notch. Then there's the sound, which has one flaw that prevents this from getting a ten (more on this later). I liked the music, as well as PMT's voice which was great. On the other hand, It was hard to figure out what EGOT was saying most of the time due to those effects used. I watched this three times in order to get what he was saying during the first visit, but the second time was somewhat incomprehesible. This is one instance where subtitles would have helped, but that's your choice not mine. As for the music, your friend did a good job in that department. As for the content, I thought that this was pretty funny. Not as much as Rats on Cocaine, Premie Petey, or Father Tucker, but funny none-the-less.

What I do like:
-Funny
-Nice use of gradients, manipulated photography, and imported textures
-Good art and animation
-Great voice acting
-Original

What I don't like:
-EGOT is kind of hard to make out with all those voice effects.

Overall: This may not be your best, but still great. Here's a nine out of ten for doing something funny.

I've been on here for over a decade and have a high level, so fucking what? Regarding my MSN and Trillian accounts: Request to be added.
